Closing date: 18 Sep 2010Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the supply chain in a complex manufacturing environment. This includes all ordering, expediting and controlling of materials and services to meet production demands and other business needs.
Skills Range: Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to work under own initiative. Competent expediter who has ability to remain composed under pressure whist adhering to strict deadlines. Proven man-management skills.
Job Responsibilities: Development and management of the supplier base to meet production target deadlines in order to maximise efficiency and productivity. Forecasting of purchasing demands based on market trends. Management of the ERP and MRP systems functionality and the application in material resource planning. Oversee the logistical control of parts requiring a sub-contract process. Management of JIT contracts to support Kanban manufacturing whilst proactively reducing inventory. Development and implementation of new Purchasing Strategies for the Company.
Job qualifications: CIPS qualified or with a qualification in a technical subject would be desirable.
Job experience: You must have purchasing experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, ideally with a technical/electronic background. Strong understanding of ERP and MRP11 systems essential.
