Location: Rich Industrial Estate, Newhaven
Responsible to: Managing Director

Brightwell Dispensers is a global independent designer and manufacturer of innovative soap, paper and chemical dispensing systems for the hygiene and cleaning industry.

We are looking for a results-driven Head of Quality, Safety, Health, Environment (QSHE) 


To lead and support all aspects of the business in its adoption and conformance to all quality, safety, health and environmental legislation, best practices, policies, statements and procedures.

To plan, manage, implement and monitor all quality systems and processes, protective and preventative safety measures and promote & instill a positive QSHE culture and agenda within the workplace. Ensure the highest standards of quality in our products and services and SHE delivery across the Group.

To oversee the company's compliance with other legislative responsibilities as needed. 



  • Previous experience in leading a QA and QC team and implementing best practice, within manufacturing
  • Degree/ HND in Engineering
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or similar
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or similar
  • SMSTS trained or similar


  • Experience in managing health and safety within a multi-facility manufacturing environment and delivering ‘leading’ performance
  • Experience in injection moulding, steel tool making, manufacturing of plastic components, electrical components and automated assembly
  • Experience of working in an ISO9001 & ISO14001 environment and a good commercial awareness

Desired Experience

  • ISO Lead Auditor trained
  • A member of IOSH
  • Knowledge and experience of change management
  • Project management skills
  • Member of the Institute of Quality Assurance
  • Strong understanding of IT systems
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Supplier Evaluation systems
  • 6-Sigma trained (to Green Belt)


  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills (Experience in using Microsoft packages, especially Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Ability to follow a process driven approach to systems and working methods
  • Ability to apply proactive methods to Health and Safety
  • Ability to create clear policies, procedures and guidance documents
  • High level of work accuracy
  • Ability to complete tasks against tight deadlines
  • Training and presentation skills
  • Full driving license
