Quality Control Team Leader
Location : Newhaven

Areas of responsibility:
- Manage and support the Quality Control (QC) Team on day-to-day technical, operational, investigation, root cause analysis and reporting.
- Ensure that all product ordered is fit for purpose, consistent and meets both internal standards and specification, but also the expectations of our customers.
- Act as the first point of contact and facilitate communication and resolution for all QC issues between production and QC/QA department.
- Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality control system and actively participate in its continuous development.
- Represent the QSHE team on various continuous improvement and root cause analysis projects and initiatives.
- Maintain and improve the QC management system.
- Work with the day-to-day production and mould shop teams to ensure QC tasks are completed within the allocated timescale and best utilisation of assets.
- Verify finished products meet agreed specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests.
- Rework processes are correctly implemented and verified post activities.
- Regularly update the QA engineer/manager on pending actions, completed project or any quality related production issues.
Essential Criteria
Education/Qualifications
- GCSE Level Education
Knowledge/Experience
- Previous experience within a Quality Control Role or similar is required
- Root Cause Analysis
- Experience with inspection measuring equipment (Vertex, Keyence etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience of leading small QC teams
Skills/Abilities
- Good IT skills (Experience in using Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, Word and SharePoint
- Ability to analyse test results to identify failures.
- High level of work accuracy / attention to detail.
- Ability to complete tasks against tight deadlines.
- Understanding of product testing methods
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- High-level of visual awareness.
- Experience drafting reports and collating data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Quality testing methods knowledge
- Experience working within a quality department or test lab environment.
- Knowledge of Injection moulding
- Experience in ISO 9001 and Quality Systems in general
- Experience with data analysis software
