National Apprenticeship Week: Paving the way for future engineers

National Apprenticeship Week runs from 9 to 13 March 2015 and will celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy. Brightwell Dispensers Ltd. are proud to be part of the apprenticeship scheme and recognise it as an excellent means of developing a skilled team of young talent.
Brightwell’s engineering apprenticeship scheme was first launched at the beginning of September 2014. The company recently joined forces with UTC@harbourside, and agreed to take on prospective apprentices from the Newhaven based college when it opens in September 2015. By working with leading employers, the college aims to equip students with the real life skills and qualifications needed to succeed in the workplace, at university and beyond.
As part of their training, apprentices will work within all areas of Brightwell from design and development, to moulding, assembly and quality assessment (QA). The majority of their time will be spent in engineering learning how to become a rounded and experienced engineer. Brightwell’s team will work in conjunction with UTC@harbourside to help develop the students’ curriculum with the company’s ethos in mind.

Investment in apprenticeships is part of Brightwell’s wider campaign to boost the local community and to continue growing its highly skilled team who currently support Brightwell’s in-house UK manufacturing facilities. Currently exporting to over 85 countries worldwide, the global manufacturer of innovative soap, paper and chemical dispensers and dosing systems is close to reaching its 70th year in business and hopes to attract a pool of talent that will help strengthen the company’s future growth and longevity.
